The patented*, split-wing design of the Dynafit Butterfly basket promises to improve your arm efficiency by adapting to the terrain. If the ground you're stabbing is uneven, the basket can split apart, maximizing the hold in the snow. The curved nature of the wings also adds some lift, helping to prevent the tip from sticking in firm snow. A welcome relief if you've ever had to backtrack for a pole that didn't want to tour with you. The baskets are sold individually and include carbide tips. You'll need 2 if you've a set of poles to upgrade.
* Note the baskets are patented by Dynafit and not butterflies, even though butterflies can demonstrate prior art.
