Plum Guide Front Brakes

Discontinued

An interesting new brake design from the Plum factory nestled in the Alps. These are mounted under the Guide toe pieces and retract when you place your toe in the binding. The arms extend forward instead of backward, which helps them dig into the snow. If you don’t like the idea of leashing yourself to your skis, check out the Guide Brakes and decrease your ramp angle as a bonus.

The brakes measure a couple millimeters over spec width so there is some wiggle room. They are 9.5mm thick and weigh 184 [85mm] - 187 [115mm] grams (~6.5 ounces). Sold in pairs.

Question from Michelle

I'm assuming you need to purchase two, they aren't sold as a pair. Is that correct? And, will the 85mm break work with Dynafit Baltoro Women 2.0 149cm ski?

Answer from jbo

Hi Michelle, these are sold in pairs (price is for 2). I just updated the description to reflect this, thanks for pointing out it wasn't clear. Yes, the 85s would fit the Baltoros well.

Question from Marc (hasn't used product)

can i remove my current plum guide toe pieces (last years model) and add the brakes using current holes without damaging the binding ski interface?

Answer from jbo

Hi Marc, yes these are designed to be added under the toe. Try to put the new screws into the same threads cut by the old ones to avoid stripping the holes.
