I don't know about my racing times, but I notice I'm able to shave my beard about 7% faster if a Skimo branded strap is in the vicinity, Nate.

Can't stand this type of tail clip attachment system, personally. And the tips, although they never gave me problems like coming out while skinning, are irritating at best. I drilled a hole into a non-La Sportiva ski tip to use these with that ski. Had to do a minor custom bend of the metal tip, but it just never seemed like a good attachment system to me. And, it's obviously not transferrable to other skis in the quiver - I like to match up multiple skis, boots, and skins at my whim - so that's a bit lame....

I love 'em. Super easy to apply with the tip strings. Easiest skins I own to remove, also due to the tip strings. Very fine. In the product description, it reads: 'Secret sauce make the glue stick to your skis yet separate without unnecessary effort.' Yeah, what Skimo Co said. Because, unless coated in snow (it happens) these skins stick to my skis really well. And, they come off easier than any other skins I've ever used. Know how you can't wait for a typical pair of all-nylon skins to get used for abo...

Since I already had a pair of ultra-light race skis, I thought I'd see what all the fuss was about in the 'half the price of the race version, for a few ounces of weight penalty' movement. I wasn't disappointed. Despite nailing about 20 rocks solidly during the slow snow start of the 2012-2013 season, I didn't get any edge compressions or dings worth mentioning. No core shots either. So, to my eye, durability seems awesome for a ski this diminutive. From Broad Fork Twin Peak to Bonkers and beyond, I took 'e...

I only need to run one plate to cover the range of ski boot bsl's I own, and naturally I don't run it in the front because that would be …. weird. Obviously, I run just the rear plate. So, I automatically get a little shim action, which might increase my ski boots' forward lean by a degree, which I prefer anyway. As with the La Sportiva plates, my only concern was that the 'arms' might bend out during the torquing applied to tighten the bindings down. No such issue. The artistry of these plates is lost d...
