Unlike the rival BCA models, which only include 2 sizes, this includes 3, which makes it a little easier to visualize crystal sizes. Its also a little less cluttered and more of a pure measuring tool, without codes for crystal types.

One of my favorite layers for skiing. In cold temps, the hood and thumb loops are a life saver, and the skin pockets fit even mid-width skins well. I have the older version with a back pocket, which is great for a bottler or wind shell. Race suit is almost out due to this piece, as it is so flexible.

For what it is designed for, i.e. racing, this pack works great-- it is easy to use the ski holder and bottler holder. For everyday use, the stiff safety pocket, as well as the lack of adjustment and padding and helmet holder, make this not an everyday pack for me. The durability of the wire loops is also questionable; recommend only using for their purpose as odd directions of pull will cause issues -- luckily Dynafit warranty has been quite good. Hard to find another book for Washington, so until something else comes out to compare to, worth 5 stars. Includes key areas in all parts of the Cascades, with many practical and dream routes. As with all Mountaineers books, graphics could be modernized, but at least its a standard format.

Sometimes you can feel the wind catch this bottle holder when descending quickly, but other than some aero improvements, this bottle holder doesn't need much. Has kept bottles warm in -5 or so, and the elastic keeps bottles in rather than on the slopes. If you want a brighter color, consider buying an RC20 pack in the color of you choice and swapping (I got an orange from a PDG).
