Made to be light and compact, the Neve Pro is a must-have for when the skin track turns into a near-vertical boot pack. With 10 points, the Neve Pro doesn’t skimp in the traction department, while the aluminum toe and heel help to keep the weight (or lack thereof) in check. The quick-lock center cable offers seamless tool-free adjustment while allowing the crampon to fold on itself, drastically reducing the real estate taken up in your pack. The steel front and aluminum rear wire bails provide versatility as the Neve Pro works with mountaineering, telemark, and touring boots. For steep exploits on snow, you’d be best to bring along the Neve Pro.

  • 10 aluminum points provide confident grip.
  • Quick-lock center cable is easily adjusted and allows the crampon to fold on itself.
  • Front steel and rear aluminum wire bails work with mountaineering, telemark, and touring boots.
  • Green anodizing looks smart!

Sizing Note: In the stock configuration, the Neve can fit boots with a BSL measurement between 285mm - 345mm. The optional short center cable is needed for ski boots with BSL's between 255-315mm.

Question from Hans74

Hi,

I need crampons for my recreational ski touring. For the crampons weight and decent functionality on snow and sometimes rocks is priority. I am not an extreme Skimo athlete, my weight ist about 190 pounds, plus backpack of ca. 17 pounds.

I have the Scarpa F1Lt with Volkl Rise Above 88. For the crampons, I naarowed it down to:

(1) these BD Neve Pro,
(2) Petzl Irvis Hybrid,
(3) Dynafit Mezzelema and
(4) Blue Ice Harfang.

Many thanks for your help and recommendation. Your website is amazing.

Hi Hans, the biggest different between crampon models is the metal they're made of. Some of these (like the Irvis Hybrid and Harfang) have steel toes, which is important if you plan to front point on rocks or hard ice. Sounds like that might be your use-case. Otherwise, if it's just for hard snow travel, you can use all aluminum crampons and save some weight. Other than that, it's primarily a matter of personal preference between models. All will work with an F1 LT. Feel free to reach out to us at help@skimo.co to get into more details!

Question from Sean

Having trouble keeping these on Dalbello Quantums while walking up steep ice/hardpack. The wide toe bail does not conform well to narrow-toed ski mountaineering boots. Are different bails available?

Sean,

The "Toe Wire Bails - Standard" sold here should work better!

And if anyone has the Hoji Free boot handy to check compatibility, that would be awesome :-)
(for my current crampons the lever isn't very secure because the pivot on the back of the Hoji sticks out pretty far -- see photo)

Thanks for checking! I also just saw this on the BD website:
"Approximate Crampon fit: Regular cables fit boot sole lengths 285-345mm. Short cable kits available for boot sole lengths 255-315mm".
Unfortunately 285 may be too big :/

Do you guys sell the "short cable kit" by chance?

Question from Mark S

Is there a min and max boot length? Seems like it would be highly adjustable. Planning on sharing this with my wife. (I already have a steel pair of my own.)

Answer from Andrew C

Mark, I just measured with a few boots, and it looks like the minimum length is about 270mm BSL and the maximum is about 335mm BSL. If that won't accommodate both boots, shoot an email to help@skimo.co and we can find one that will work with both boots!
