hey.....can I get away with a 95 break on my 97 waist Black Crows?? (is there any fudge room?)
Assuming these come with that longer plate and switching those plates out is the recommended-by-a-pro part?!?!
Plum Brakes
Moving your bindings to some new skis? Need some wider brakes for your fatties? Plum has replacement brakes available for Guide, Yak, and Pika bindings. The brakes use a sliding lock system to remain retracted while skinning. Just push the red button to release! The Guide and Yak brakes are available in 85mm, 95mm, 105mm, 115mm, and 135mm widths to match just about every ski. The lightweight Pika binding has a slightly different brake design that supports 85, 95, and 105mm widths. Oazo brake comes in 80mm, 90, 100mm, and 110mm. All brakes are sold in pairs.
Race Brake - For 22/23 Plum has created the Race Brake for the Race 120, 150, and 170 bindings. They screw into the holes for the Crampon receptor. Only 30g per side with screws and meets ISMF requirements.
Pika Brake - Attaches to Pika baseplate. Compatible with 2021/22 and earlier Pika bindings.
Guide/Yak - Please note that Plum recommends Guide and Yak brakes be swapped by an authorized dealer, but we won’t report you for trying. For Guide/Yak bindings, you must already have the brake-compatible baseplate (or buy them here). The brakeless versions have a different baseplate to which the brakes will not attach.
Oazo / Pika Brake - Designed to work with 22/23 Oazo and Pika base plates, these brakes screw on and give you stopping power. 73g each [90mm].

Hey Svcci, thanks for reaching out. I think the 105 is probably the better choice here. Reason being is that the spot at which the brakes will be deploying on the ski is wider than 97mm. Even if it was 97mm where the brakes were deploying though, that's only 4mm of clearance on either side of the ski, definitely not enough to warrant sizing down and bending the brakes out (at which point you may need to bend them out beyond what the profile of the unbent 105mm brakes would be anyways just in order to clear the ski when deploying).
They don't come with the plate, though the plates are available here. It's the "Guide Heel Baseplate for Brakes x2" in the drop down menu that you're looking for!

Is this the only add-on PLUM brake? Wondering if there is a version where you don't have to manually disengage the brake and instead have the turn of the heel plate act to hold it out of position when climbing.
My husband ordered this red-button version but before I have it mounted want to be sure there is not a simpler option. Thanks in advance for your reply.

how do these mount ? I have plum guide's w/leashes but want to install the brakes. I also have the crampons so how will the brakes effect the crampons ? Or not ?

Do you need the long heal track to use this break if the original Guide has the standard short mounting track? If so, is that available to buy? I asked Plum about buying this track in the past and they told me it was not available for purchase.

Hey Andrew Unfortunately you need a whole new base plate to use this brake. The whole base plate+brake is available for about $200 per pair, and there could be a delay depending on our shipping schedule. Otherwise you would need to buy the whole binding with brake.
