Overview
The Ruby Mountains used to be a well kept secret housing consistently good powder and some quick access. However, times have changed and along with the heli-skiing in the area, the ultra-classic Terminal Cancer couloir sees a ton of traffic. Folks from Salt Lake will even day trip the 2hrs to nap face-shots in this beauty. Just google it and endless POV vids will pop up. It's still very worthwhile to visit and especially if you're passing along I-80 to or from Tahoe or Salt Lake City.
Skier access
From the town of Elko Nevada head out into Lamouille Canyon. Depending on the time of year the gate may be closed, but just park and continue up the road. TC will come into view on the right hand (south) side of the road. Take time to find a good place to cross the stream and then head on up!
