The White Mountains of New Hampshire are a small rugged range with a few super classic alpine lines that can be enjoyed all winter long, but are most loved and infamous for the spring skiing scene. Tuckerman's Ravine is the more well known of the areas and consists of a huge steep headwall that makes up for its lack of length by being super steep. Huntington Ravine is the lesser traveled and more mountaineering of the ravines with a few great couloirs in a very rocky and icy amphitheater. Each of these is a classic in it's own right and both can be extended by topping out on the summit if the wind isn't blowing 200mph and then dropping in.
Park at Pinkham Notch and begin by hiking up the Tuckerman Ravine Trail. At 1.3 miles the Huntington Ravine Trail branches off right. Alterantely, in early season when snow is still present, you can continue up the Tucks trail, crossing the second bridge, then take a right on the snowcat road which in about 15-20 minutes takes you to Harvard Cabin and the Huntington Ravine Trail.
