No, the twist is wrong in the case of the one pole about which I'm complaining. It is correct in the other one -- it stays open so you can put your hand up through the bottom and use the pole straps the correct way. The one pole has the twist incorrect, and it doesn't hold flat in the hand.

Has anyone figured out how to re-thread a Vario pole strap? One of mine came from the store a couple of years ago with a twist in it, and it drives me crazy.
