Thanks jbo. It is a very ugly trim job for sure but it was the best I could manage with a knife on the skin track… and it definitely helped! I tried waxing them before trimming and it breaks made a difference, and I had probably skinned 5 miles before butchering the skins. The hybrid mix skins were perfect straight out of the packet, it seems odd that their pure mohair would be this much slower?

I’m a bit confused about these skins, everyone else who has reviewed them seems to love them but I found them to have by far the worst glide of any skins I have come across. I have the contour hybrid mix and they are great; I used these for the first time on what was supposed to be a big day and felt like I was working twice as hard as usual, I even had to double pole down steepish hills. I ended up cutting them really thin towards the tail and tip while we were out so that I could keep up with my partners....
