In 1958 a passionate alpine skier named Ed Scott from Sun Valley, ID invented the first tapered aluminum ski pole, which immediately replaced the sport's existing use of bamboo and steel. His initial vision of technical innovation would serve as the cornerstone of the company's philosophy as the brand blossomed into the SCOTT Sports company that we know today. 60+ years later the company is still leading the way in a broad number of sports with skiing still being at the forefront.
