Awesome, I'm going to go with the 7mm then. I can cinch the cuff down pretty tight so I'll trade a bit of extra volume there to be sure I can make room for in the toes. Appreciate it!
Hi there! Looking to limp another year or two out of a heavily used pair of Sportiva Syborgs with absolutely beat liners. My shells are a 28.5 and the length (toe room wise) with the stock liner is fine but definitely a performance fit, I wouldn't want it any tighter. It would be nice to take up any volume I could in the heel/calf/instep area however. Think I could go with the 7mm version and mold with a thick toe cap to get as much room as possible in the toes? Or would the 5mm version be a better bet? OR,...
Overall great hoodie for what it's designed for. Bought this for some longer races (i.e. Grand Traverse) as well as longer/faster tours in the winter and spring. Material is super stretchy and warm but still breathable. There are some nice less-fleecy sections (in black) that are a bit more durable under a pack but still stretch. Far and away the best pants I've bought so far. I got these for some longer races (i.e. Grand Traverse) as well as longer/faster tours in the winter and spring ski mountaineering season. I'd say they are more of a super light, very stretchy softshell material that's just a bit fuzzy on the inside than spandex. They've worked great so far and while they do have a zippered cuff that easily stretches over my TLT5s, I'm going to cut/sew some cut-outs so my buckles fit through the pants.
