Thanks! I’m actually thinking a small amount of elastic cord and some kind of plate or knot might be the best for a lightweight field repair. What you suggested would work great for a more permanent fix.

Can you buy replacement elastic pieces for the tips? If not, what would you recommend to keep as a spare? Thanks!
