Thanks jbo. These seem like the stock pivot assembly? It's actually the carbon around the pivot that's degrading, not the pivot assembly itself. That's why dynafit warrantied my first pair. I have a few of the plastic ring pivot components that came as spare parts with the boots and did swap them in, but they didn't make a difference. If the carbon uppers had some sort of buffer material around the pivot, that would solve the issue but it doesn't seem like they're made that way. I think I just have to get u...

I'm a bit annoyed by the price drop, I also paid the previous higher price. I wonder how often Dynafit replaces them. How do your PG's compare in terms of cuff tightness over time/dowhill performance? Do you have the Black or the Race? I'm covetous of full carbon race boots but am probably a few years away from that investment. I'm just curious how the high end full carbon boots compare to this model.

I have a similar experience with these, CBD. Got a pair new from this site and not far into their lifespan, both cuff pivots developed slop (long before I would have expected it). I worked through skimo.co to warranty them via Dynafit, who ended up replacing the boots entirely. But the replacement pairs have done the exact same thing. I've sort of come to accept that it's a feature of these boots, not a bug. If I don't think about it, it's not really an issue...they aren't downhill-specific boots after all....
