Great iron. The base seems thick, and the temperature dial is accurate enough. If I was using HF or expensive waxes, a digital one might be worth the investment, but for most people using universal waxes, this will do the trick!

Pro's: Easy to use. Ski well. Adjustable vertical and horizontal release Easy to remove/add brakes if you want to lighten up for longer days or brake for resort days/convenience. Super easy to use risers! Low ramp angle Con's Heavier than the comparable MTN, Alpinist, ATK
Great alternative to the Marker Alpinist M-Werks. Skis a tiny bit smoother since there is some elasticity in the toe. Neglibile differences at moderate speeds in good snow vs a lightweight tech binding. Lateral toe release makes these (and the Vipec) a bit safer. Lots of moving parts. The heel snaps down scary hard to the point Im surprised I haven't lost a finger.
Great resort binding. Ideal on a resort ski that you occasionally tour on. Same construction & durability as the 13's. Save $50 vs the 13's unless you run a very high DIN.
The Good: It skis like an alpine binding The Bad: It's heavy, and when not set up properly is prone to preleasing. It's also a little more complicated to transition than a true tech binding. The shift gets a lot of hate from Facebook groups, and I'm sure the crew at Skimo cringes whenever someone walks in the door asking for one, but they do have a few great use cases: 1. On an (mostly) alpine ski that can go on shorter tours or is used for sidecountry missions. 2. For very fit individuals who want a one...
