Finally getting around to installing these and they close the gap too much to the bottom of my boot that I do not fully engage with the heel pins (see pic). Is the only solution to remove material from the bottom of my boot? Should there be a gap behind the slider plate for the heels to properly release?

Can you provide guidance on sizing? I am 6'0", 175lbs with 41" shoulders. Thank you. -Kevin
