BCA ECT Cord
It may look like a jump rope, but unlike the traditional schoolyard toy, BCA's ECT Cord has the ability to help keep you safe while playing in your mountain playground. This is a huge upgrade from the paracord I used to use for my ECTs. The one bummer around it is that the handles can be challenging to keep a good grip on since they're not loops. The metal bits in the middle do a good job cutting through denser pencil and knife hard layers in the snowpack and the cord folds down pretty small. I use a hair tie to keep it compact in the pack.
