I have a set of the old pre 2011 tlt speed heels (the grey ones) that both have cracked screw holes on the mounting plates, which from my experience is very common for that generation. Would the heel housing of those mount to the tlt speed plates you have listed here?

For the record, i'm a 200+lb, 6ft male, and I ski the 171 with a scarpa alien rs, and love it. This class of ski is all about how little weight you can get away with, I think you would totally shred the 157.

Where do you think Scarpa derived their 85mm waist cutoff recommendation? Is it because they're worried they'll start seeing failures from the torque of wider skis or do they just think it's not enough boot to push a wider ski around?

The flat touring mode works just fine, i've put many miles on mine without any auto-rotations.
