When you're in the Wasatch and itching for something that demands focus and technical ice climbing gear, the Triangle Couloir is a great option.
Drive up Little Cottonwood Canyon a little over two miles, and you will find a pull out to the right side of the road that will easily fit a car or two. From there, make a note where the Triangle runout is. Use the summer road where you will start hiking down canyon where you will need to head left (south) and start bushwacking your way to the Triangle runout. From there you will be able to easily skin up to the ice climbing section of the route. Two 70-meter ropes are used to climb up to some chalkstones placed in a large rock - which is your anchor. This will likely use the full length of your 70-meter rope so make sure to tie both parties into the ends before the ascent. From the anchor, you can leave the rope and start skinning up to the trees where you can continue until the ridge.
There is 70 meters of steep ice climbing in the center of the line.
The upper section is a blast to ski and the ice climbing is short but fun. Really short line and does not take much time to complete.

This line rocks. Swing some tools and crush it.
