Using your arms efficiently on the uphill can get you to the top faster and help save your legs for the downhill. The Dynafit Dy.N.A. (EVO) Race Carbon Pole is an ultralight race pole made with 100% carbon fiber which makes it very stiff. This stiffness helps convert your arm power efficiently into thrust while the lightness saves energy each time your lift your arm.

The racing pole features a new patented butterfly basket which is designed to adapt to the slope and extend under pressure for an optimal hold in the snow. Inspired by butterfly wings, two basket sections automatically split apart as needed to conform to the terrain. They also help prevent the XC carbide tip from sticking in wet or compacted snow.

Hey Elliott, unfortunately Dynafit didn't bring this pole into North America this season, only the PDG for racing.

These replaced my Excel Nordic poles for racing. They are more stiff and I've noticed that when skating & double poling. I also have noticed improved poling because of the Butterfly basket that has better purchase on soft snow surfaces. I've added 3M Gripping Material to align with my palm when my thumbs are hooked on the waist straps for steep climbing. I was surprised at how light they were and enjoyed the fact of getting better functionality without a weight penalty.

These are, in my opinion, one of the best options for skimo poles out there. Having been on XC poles for several seasons now, the improvement is worth the investment. The basket is huge, which makes skinning in deep snow way easier than with smaller xc style baskets. The pole is super light (lighter even than my super light xc poles), and the grip is large, soft, and very comfortable in hand. The shaft is larger than most XC poles, which makes for a stiffer pole, with no noticeable weight gain. They were bashed around plenty this last weekend (tossed into storage boxes in a snowcat, stuffed into my truck, and buried under gear), and came out with nary a scratch. Standard length is 130 cm, which works well for me (6'), but can be cut easily if you want em shorter.

If you are in the market for a new set of skimo poles, look no further!
