I have these bindings, and am starting to be disenchanted with the insane ramp delta (~15 I think?). Any thoughts on what is the best option to bring that down? I very infrequently change boots (like never), so I am looking at mounting a different heel piece to my skis. Thanks, Skimo.
I've used this harness one long distance ski tours and day trips when I might want a quick belay. On tours in glaciated terrain, it just holds enough to have everything you need. In some ways, I can see this misconstrued as a negative; when loaded up, the gear slings pull from the top of the waist strap and can make it uncomfortable. For me personally, this means I have too much gear, and need to slim down the rack. It did take me a while to figure out how to adjust it to get it tight enough around my waist...
This is my go-to outer layer for day to day touring. I find it very comfortable in a huge range of temps, having worn it everything from spring tours up to 40 degrees down to 5 degrees with a microgrid fleece underneath. I've spilled coffee all over the front and scraped it up on rocks and it still looks good. There is some wear appearing on the lower back area, the highest impact area under a large pack. I'm 6', 180lbs, and got a large. I have a slightly long torso and long arms, and this is a great fit ...
About me: 6', 180lbs, 11.5 shoe size, 29.5 in this boot. Wide forefoot, narrow heel. Skied one day in this boot before heat molding. Mostly used with a Fisher Hannibal 94 177mm. Lots of good info already in reviews here, but I wanted to leave another long term data point. I have been using these boots exclusively the last 12 months, and have skied every one of those months. They have held up very well to all of the rocky, snow covered approach scrambles, as well as cold, long days, and deep pow turns. I...
Single data point for other shoppers, I am a size 32/32, 5'12", 180lbs, and purchased size Medium. Length is perfect, but they are a little less than skin tight through the thighs and backside. I can see myself replacing their thing drawstring with something a little stronger to make up for this. The attention to detail on these pants is high. Very well thought out. The reinforced lower leg sections has spots ready to be cut out to fit over a ski boot. I have Atomic Backlands, and the top buckle as well a...
