One more question - can you add a brake to the alpinist?

2 questions: 1) I ski a 7.5 Din on my alpine bindings. Which Alpinist would be best for me? 2) The Alpinist was recommended as a better skiing binding due to its wider mounting pattern, yet I saw an additional mounting option to make it even wider. What's that all about?
