Seems like most people comment that the ski's turning radius can be modified by how you press into the shovel. I've liked that in the past. Also, have always liked a firmer tail. I'm an advanced skier so now worries on driving the ski. I prefer to be held accountable in exchange for performance. Also, someone reviewed that the pre-cut skins act like a tip-notch type release. Thank you BlackBird for pointing me towards a one ski quiver. Perfect. I'm simple that way. Now wondering if I can get away with the 171 length since you said it seems to ski a little longer. The shortest ski I've ever been on was a 178 front side all mountain ski, and I loved it. Lastly, I was hoping for a shorter turning radius, like sub 20m. Does the Ortles 90 still turn quickly enough edge to edge, like in the trees? Thanks.

Hello, Thank you for your help. Would you compare that Salomon X-Alp with the Voile Objective? I'm 6'1", 165-170 lbs. Steeper the better and love to make lots of short turns. (Save the long high speed rails for the chairlifts.) Been a backcountry skier for about 15 years but always on powder boards.
