Hey Stan, It does cinch down pretty tight. The side compression straps are pretty effective at keeping the footprint small, and the stiff back panel will keep everything locked in. The roll top will be a bit bulky, but I think it would be a great option compared to other 60L packs!

Hey Jeffrey, Sometimes the older baskets can get a little worn out. I would recommend a couple of dots of flexible glue, like a rubber cement or shoe goo!

The 12mm will fit well in that style of boot. I would also definitely recommend molding the liners!
