Hey Gordon,
I think that these would be a fantastic choice for Sierra powder ski! I think in soft snow the TLT8 would be fine, but in more variable conditions it may start to fold on you a little!

Hey Brendan,
These do not have the breakaway component. You can add some leash safe loops that you can find on the Maruelli Binding Parts page. They are compatible with most leashes, including these.
The included steel loop often provides an easier connection point on your boots. On the XTDs, you can loop this back on itself around the lower portion of the cable, which tends to work well. However, if you prefer clipping the biner on direct, there is no concern there :)
