My Skiing
Skiing for 40 years, love to go fast and get steep but no longer huck my meat. I tour for the down but want light light on the way there. I do some citizens races, and I'm pretty fit but I watch the kids go up and smile - they are faster up than I ever was...
My Gear
Powder boards: DPS Lotus 120 w/ Plum Guides and a Scarpa Mistrale RS.
Tour boards: Dynafit TLT6 CL, DPS Cassair, PLUM Wepa.
Just bought a pair of Solomon Minims and am looking at bindings and skins now. Can't wait!

I have experienced the same failure mode with the 2017 SCTT toe piece TWICE(!!!!!!) on different toe pieces this season ('23/'24)! Once while skinning up, the ski just fell off my foot when it broke. The second time I was initiating a turn at approximately 30mph and went down hard. Both instances l was left to ski out on one ski. These bindings are garbage.

I was wondering if slightly wider (70mm) and trim to fit for steep climbs (mountaineering climbs/traverses etc) would be a slight plus. Will they fray/shed if this is done? And while we're at it, can you recommend a couple of bindings from which to choose (looking at the Plum 150 and the Ski Trab Gara Titan Release)?

With the little extra width do you cut a custom skin? Which skin do you use?
