For someone that has been skitrab curious and gets intrigued when they go on sale but wouldn't consider themselves an expert... is this the most approachable ski from them (it seems that way based on reviews but I'm curious is the differences are negligible)? My only reference point for comparison is the Backland 85 and a demo day on the Hagan Ultra 89

Has anyone been courageous enough to replace the upper buckle with a strap like the F1 LT or Fischer Travers to eliminate the fiddle factor of having to reposition the buckle wire in the ladder every transition? Or found a more simple fix like a compatible ladder with a guard or alterative method of resistance to keep the buckle wire from popping out in when going into walk mode?

Is this a renamed version of the Black Ops Alpineer 96? The specs seem pretty similar what I can tell

Running off of the last question, how does the Cirque 84 compare to the new Zero G 85? I know both are made by Blizzard. I'm in the market for a dedicated spring ski for Colorado and hopefully some Volcano adventures down the road. I've been turned off in the past by reviews of the zero g being stiff and unforgiving but that seems to have shifted in this latest version. I currently have the non-ul Backland 85 that I'm looking to move on from, in part to avoid a remount due to new boots and to go a bit light...
