As someone who enjoys backcountry skiing, I appreciate how compact and lightweight the shovel is - it fits easily into my backpack without taking up too much space. The shovel feels sturdy and well-built. According to my scale, it weighs in at around 476 grams.
Of all the beacons I researched, the Mammut Barryvox stood out to me due to its 70-meter range and unique, beeping audio tone that accelerates as you move closer to your target. While I haven't had to use the beacon in a real-life scenario, I feel confident and secure with this device by my side
I have found the Marker Alpinist bindings to be an excellent choice for my skiing needs. Recently I a pair of the Petzl Irvis Hybrid crampons. Overall I'm very pleased with them. For starters, they are quite lightweight, which makes them perfect for fast-paced mountaineering. My experience using the Dynastar M-tour 99 ski has been very positive. Having used it a few times in both the California Sierras and Utah, I can say that the ski's lightweight construction makes it a great choice for uphill travel, while its 99 width allows for easy navigation through powder. I was also impressed by the fact that the ski doesn't feel too light when going fast, which made it great for all-around skiing. Overall, I would recommend this ski to anyone who enjoys backcountry skiing
