Blue Ice Falk Ice Axe
Balancing technical prowess, rugged durability, lightweight, and an approachable price point, the Falk Ice Axe is a sturdy addition to the Blue Ice family. Swapping a titanium head for a steel one, the Falk is built from the same bones as the Hummingbird. Both axes feature an intuitive dual-textured grip, a featherweight aluminum shaft, and a beveled spike for security when plunged into firm snow. A curved shaft maximizes snow clearance when ascending steep couloirs and that chromoly steel head offers technical durability when biting into firm surfaces. Ideal for ski mountaineering and ski touring, the Blue Ice Falk is a steadfast companion for alpine environments where taking a tumble is less than desirable.
- Curved aluminum shaft with dual-textured grip feels just right in your hands when picking your way up a classic line.
- Durable chromoly steel head stands up to impacts on ice and snow.
- Included pick and adze protectors ensure you are the one doing the shredding.
- Compatible with Blue Ice Sliding Pommel to tailor grip comfort and security.

Questions & Reviews
I have the blue ice sliding pommel on mine for a little bit of extra grip, all around a great tool for any type of ski adventuring
If you want the lightest option possible the Hummingbird is probably a good upgrade, but if you want to save a few $ I think the Falk is the way to go. I also appreciate that it comes with a nice one-piece adze+pick protector.
I added the Petzl trigrest off my gully to the Falk and it worked perfectly. Felt like it was a great upgrade for an already solid axe.
