Ortovox Focus Voice Beacon
If the tower of Babel had been buried in an avalanche, Ortovox's fluent-in-9-languages Diract Voice Beacon would have been up to the task of digging everyone out. This year, after 5 seasons, Ortovox offers an upgrade in the Diract Voice. Voluble as ever, the Focus Voice still provides you with calm, clear, concise audible direction as you navigate a stressful beacon search, but now in a smaller, more powerful package. The FV is 25 grams lighter (win for the weight weenies out there) and slightly more packable, while increasing the search strip width to 80m for other brands, and 90m for other Ortovox Smart Antenna models. The Focus Voice retains all the popular safety features present in the Diract Voice, but automatically adjusts to nearby electronic interference in both search and transmit modes, eliminating signal inconsistencies. Finally, the folks at Ortovox made one of the most user-friendly beacons out there even easier to use with a display upgrade that increased its size and pixel count, so whether you are looking or listening, the Focus Voice reduces potential friction in sticky situations.
- Like the Diract Voice, uses the patented Ortovox voice navigation system.
- 80m search strip width that extends up to 90m when searching for other Ortovox Smart Antenna beacons.
- Uses the Ortovox Smart Antenna Technology, where the best-situated antenna is used in transmit mode to extend range.
- Interference Protection ensures that even if your phone (or whatever else) is close to your beacon, your signal will still transmit.
- Still speaks 9 languages!
