Can you swap u springs on these to dial down the vertical release for a lighter person?

Will the Vertical FT Toe Plate work with my Vertical ST binding? I am in need of a little plastic nubbin to engage the toe lever cam.

Is there a part you can swap out to change lateral release similar to how you can swap u springs to change vertical release? What about on the gara titan?

Is the tech gap the whole issue? I thought it was a combination of tech gap + how wide the heel tower / u spring assembly is. I'm having difficulty discerning this information on the internets. I noticed on my partner's Salomon MTN Pure binding that there is a bunch of room there (that binding uses a unique mechanism).
