Is the tech gap the whole issue? I thought it was a combination of tech gap + how wide the heel tower / u spring assembly is. I'm having difficulty discerning this information on the internets. I noticed on my partner's Salomon MTN Pure binding that there is a bunch of room there (that binding uses a unique mechanism).
