When describing the Carbon Pagoda Tour CFL 105, DPS boldly states "It is the most well-rounded backcountry ski we've ever made." Considering the staggering amount of crowd-pleasers DPS has produced over the years, this is a pretty serious statement. Taking inspiration from their various ski shapes, DPS combined them to create a ski that won't flinch when you're looking to dial up the send-o-meter yet remains nimble and agile while navigating through tight and technical terrain. Compared to other more "traditional" DPS skis, the Carbon Pagoda Tour CFL 105 allows for a more centered skiing style, helping with balanced hop turns down a steep face. Learning from prior iterations of the Pagoda Tour construction, DPS is now utilizing a Carbon and Flax laminate, which decreases torsional chatter while lowering the overall weight. This results in a platform that leads to a more enjoyable up while having fresher legs (and presumably more fun) for the down. Using the Super Sap Bio Resin in the layup of the ski and Checkerspot algal technology in the polyurethane sidewalls, these skis have a lessened carbon footprint compared to construction methods of years past. Being handbuilt right here in SLC with the highest quality materials, the Carbon Pagoda Tour CFL 105 is an exceptionally versatile ski that will handle whatever conditions come their way.

  • (More) environmentally friendly materials are used in the ski to help lessen its environmental footprint.
  • Carbon and Flax Laminate leads to a high level of performance and energy with minimal weight.
  • World Cup bases help fend off impact damage while having excellent glide.
  • Rockwell 48 steel edges are the industry standard and when paired with full-wrap polyurethane sidewalls, help bite into firm snow.
  • Textured topsheet helps resist snow buildup, ensuring your skis stay light on a big day out.
  • Centered stance allows for a balanced yet stable feel in precarious terrain.
  • Binding reinforcement keeps your bindings from misbehaving.

Question from Justin

Which DPS ski/ binding set up for a 50/50 would you recommend for 5ā€™10ā€ 175lb I want something that can charge and be responsive. Lightest possible set up that can still perform?? I know Iā€™m asking for the best of both worlds. Curious as what your thoughts and experiences are

Hi Justin,

Shoot us an email at help@skimo.co and we can get you more personalized recommendations! Very dependent on what conditions you're looking to ski, and what your definition of charging is.

Hi Justin, I would add that the DPS touring line is one of the most capable of crossing over to resort skiing, so you might be barking up the right tree. They are damp, durable, and can charge.

Hi Travis,

These are more lively and easy to ski, while the previous model was damper.

Question from Trevin

Thinking about grabbing these in a 179 or the Salomon Echo 106 181. I will mainly be skiing the Tetons and surrounding area. Mounting with a DPS R10 with the freeride stomp pads and toe shims. Wondering if the dampness in these two skis will be similar. Or if the Pagoda will be harsher with the carbon construction. Thanks.

Answer from Jeff

Trevin, The DPS Pagoda, past and the new CFL, are not harsh at all. Actually some of the dampest light touring skis there are.
Hard to say exactly how they compare. The DPS are a bit stiffer overall and feel silky smooth. The QST have softer tips and tails that can flutter a bit on firmer snow. But with its added weight , full sidewalls and cork damping, still ski well on variable snow.
