La Sportiva Cirrus Tight

Discontinued

La Sportiva calls it seamless technology. We call it comfortable. The Cirrus Tight is somehow built without any seams, using a 4-way stretch fabric that is body mapped with varying insulation and ventilation zones. The Polygiene® fabric is moisture wicking with an anti-bacterial / anti-odor treatment. The lightweight tights have an 18” (46cm) inseam so they won’t crowd your shins inside a ski boot. Great for wearing underneath a skin suit or any ski pant. As a bonus, you can also use these for running after the snow melts (not before as you should still be skiing). 135g (4.8oz) in size M.

  • 60% Nylon, 35% polypropylene, 5% spandex mixture hugs your legs while allowing movement.
  • Bluesign® approved fabric treatment helps prevent bacteria and the associated odors.
  • Zippered pocket in the center back is a good place for an ID and cash.

Question from Jason Pennings

Hi There,

I ordered these a while back in a medium but received a EU large. They seem to be a bit loose around the waste. I am 185cm, 73kg and have a 30in waste. What size would be best for me?

Answer from Trace Leches

Hey Jason! We list US sizes for all of our clothing. US sizes are generally one size smaller than the comparable EU size (so an EU Large is equivalent to a US Medium), we like our hamburgers. At 185cm and 73kg I would recommend a US Small (EU Medium). Send me an email if you have any other questions!

Question from John Gemza

Greetings from the Northwest,
Need a recommendation on sizing, I'm 6'0 tall with a 31" waist, and 33" inseam; based on the sizing chart, I assume an XS is the correct size?
Thanks
John

Answer from jbo

Hi John, the XS would be short. The waist is fairly snug on these so the S would be no problem, I would go with that.

I have become increasingly enamored of wearing tights for all sorts of outdoor activities, and more recently discovered the benefits of three-quarter tights for “in-between” weather.

Moreover, even compared to my other tights, both full-length and three-quarter, something about the Cirrus fabric is just magical. Upon arrival, the Cirrus is so small that you’ll think Skimo Co sent you the wrong size … although of course you should never think anything like that because Skimo Co would never make any mistake like that. But really, if this were just mixed in with other laundry around our house, it would look more like tights for our six-year-old daughter, not myself (fitting perfectly into a U.S. Small).

Worn by themselves as an outer layer on an alpine hike (with a little bit of skiing along the way), in weather that was so windy and cool that shorts would have been chilly, these kept my legs nice and warm; lower down, in weather that was so much warmer and calmer that shorts would have been optimal, these still didn’t feel too hot.

The only drawback is that the perfectly sized zippered pocket on the back reminds me that La Sportiva’s own Syborg skimo tight lacks such a useful feature!

Buy these tights! Buy two pairs. Super fabric and execution. Perfect for cool weather trail runs and under your ski tights or skin suit on colder days. You know it doesn't really work to wear regular long underwear, so you just suck it up and freeze. This is the answer. They're perfect.

I am 6'1" and many, many pounds heavier than jbo (195) and I have the XL.

Question from Evan

This tight looks like a versatile layer for layering and stripping down on those cold morning, chairlift, warm afternoon tours. While running distances worth a wardrobe change is rare for me, these may be great unicycling tights when i join my partner and pooch on runs :)

The attached sizing chart lists euro and USA sizing, which are a whole size different. Which size is skimoco referencing?

Hi Evan, spot on identifying all the uses for this piece. I love mine! The sizes listed are in USA coordinates.

One more question - in terms of sizing, I am 5'9", 152lbs - is small really the size for me? (Based on the chart, it seems to be.)

Answer from jbo

Hey Aaron, without knowing your waist/inseam, I'd guess you are borderline small/medium. I'm 6'1" 165, 33" waist and went with the Large after a try-on, which is charted at 1-2" over my waist size but is not big at all. Medium felt maybe a little constricting but was workable.

Thanks - inseam is 31" - so small?

Question from Aaron

Are these intended to only be underwear or could you wear these as a standalone garment for trail running for instance?

Thanks

Answer from jbo

Hi Aaron, these are a great standalone running tight (the back pocket is handy for keys or gel). I just updated the description to reflect this, thanks!
