Great question! The base of the bag is padded while the side walls are not. I would say that only the base of the bag has a bit of structure but that is from the padding.

Curious about how giro helmets might fit...we have a bunch, ranging from a large “grid” and “union,” a couple mediums, down to a small “launch” and “ratio”. With an upcoming trip I’d love to get a few of these if they fit. Thanks!

We have found that the Mammut Helmet Holder Pro does not work well with traditional alpine helmets, which tend to be somewhat larger than touring specific helmets.

Will a medium Smith Holt fit in this ? Read on another site , a different style Smith medium wouldn’t fit. Thanks

Hey TJ, we don't have a Smith Holt here in the shop but I was able to pop in a helmet that is similar in size and it did not fit in the holder that great. My inclination would be that the Smith could be hit or miss.
