Here you will find brakes for your Marker touring bindings. These can be swapped onto your existing bindings if you change skis and need a different width. Please note all brakes are sold in pairs unless otherwise stated.

Marker Alpinist

Brakes for the Alpinist 8/10/12 binding. Note that standard Alpinist brakes are NOT compatible with the Long Travel or rental bindings; those brakes have longer tracks and are available separately. These weigh 99 grams each in a 105mm.

Marker Kingpin

Marker Kingpin brakes for your heavy Kingpin or the newer M-Works. Choose the 100mm for skis up to 104mm or so wide, and the 125s for anything wider. Approximately 127 grams per side.

Hybrid Duke PT

Brakes for the Duke PT hybrid binding with the partially removable toe piece. These are available in two widths, 100mm & 125mm, weighing approx. 220g.

Marker Free

Brakes for the Free series of bindings. Includes Performance Boost freeride spacers, making the total weight roughly 145g, depending on width.

Update 2022/23: Marker is now making the Alpinist brakes with a black teflon pad instead of white.

Question from Weston

Planning to put these on Atomic Backland 78's. Seems like it might be silly but I'm not a big fan of leashes and want to keep them street (resort) legal. Will the 90 mm brakes be too wide?
12/23/2020
Answer from Will M

Hey Weston,

Thanks for the question! I think the 90mm brakes would be a bit too wide. You can certainly add them but just be aware that you may catch a brake arm when turning or skiing on steeps!

Question from Stephen

I have a pair of Alpinists with the 105 mm brake. Are they too big for a Blizzard Zero G 95? Do I need the 90 mm brake instead?
10/16/2020
Answer from Teddy Young

Hey Stephen, thanks for reaching out! The 105mm brake would be okay, but have a little excess brake width. For our Zero G 95 rental ski, we used a 90mm Alpinist brake and possibly bent it out just slightly!

Question from Mark

Hey there,

Wanted to get the marker kingpin 13s on my line sick day 104s for a 50-50 setup. Would I be able to stretch the brakes on the 100mm? Alternatively, would the 125mm brakes be too big? Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Answer from Tim

Hi Mark, Ya pushing them out to 104 should not be an issue. I would suggest having the boot in the binding when you tug on them.

Question from Todd Dustman

I have 97 mm width skis and see you are out of the 105 mm brake. Will the 115 brakes overhang so much as to cause interference while skiing? Thanks.
4/13/2020
Answer from Brett S

Thanks for your question, Todd. The 115 would be a bit too big, however, the 90mm can be stretched to fit your ski (you typically can stretch brakes about 10mm). If you want the 105 brake option please send us an email at help@skimo.co and we can try to get them in for you!

Question from steve

what size would you recommend for 94 mm wide ski?
1/20/2020
Answer from Jeff M

Steve, I measured the brake width on the 90mm and it came out at about 95mm. So the 90mm will work fine.

Question from Steve

Does adding the brakes raise the heal pins?
1/19/2020
Answer from TSB

Hi Steve, the heel pins on the Alpinist would not change height in adding a brake. You would retain the standard binding angle.

Question from Ethan

Can these brakes be added to the standard Alpinist, or only the Alpinist Long Travel? Can they be added/removed without remounting the heelpiece to the ski?

Answer from Jeff M

Ethan, they are for the Standard Alpinist. You do have to remove the heel piece to install.
