Millet Extreme Touring Fit Pant

Discontinued

Shopping for a pant that has a comfortable, sporty, active fit, is breathable and wind-resistant without being heavy or stiff? That's exactly what Millet had in mind designing the Extreme Touring Fit pants. These pants are made with a lightweight, four-way stretch XCS 100 material to allow ease of movement on the skin track. Providing fantastic wind-resistance against the elements, and a DWR coating on the exterior to ensure water repellency for those stormy backcountry days, the Extreme Touring Fit pants are ready to deliver performance snow, or shine. There are two large front zippered hand pockets, and the elastic cuffs feature a 2-way zipper allowing for quick transitions. To be inclusive to all types of touring folk, the scuff guard panels that are there for your protection will fit over most boots, big or small. The Millet Extreme Touring Fit pant is a durable, lightweight outer layer, great for spring conditions, or those of us who run a bit hot.

  • Two front zippered pockets are easily accessible to hold your most precious items.
  • DWR coating provides water repellency on stormy days.
  • XCS 100 material with four-way stretch nylon allows freedom of movement.
  • Active fit means less bulk around the lower legs.
  • Drawstring and elastic waist for comfort.
  • Scuff guard on cuffs protect both you and your pants from sharp ski edges.

Very fond of these pants! I, like a lot of people interested in these pants, like to move fast and run hot. I’ve used them on days in the alpine under full sun where raw temps popped into the 40s and also on days when it was snowing sideways and windchill values were low. They’ve done exceptionally well in both. Heat regulation is effective and I haven’t overheated in these. On extra cold days you could also run a baselayer under these without a problem.

Simple, well made, good fit, great material. I highly recommend!

Question from Blake Veath

With temperatures on the rise and spring touring taking off; would you recommend these pants for spring touring? I also typically run hot. I move fast and run hot. Any other recommendations for a good spring touring pant? Perhaps something I could keep in my pack on the way up and slide over my boots and put on just for skiing? I run so hot I usually can start spring tours in shorts. This would be for spring ski touring in Colorado in March, April, May and June. Thanks!

Answer from Brett S

Thanks for your question, Blake! While everyone has their own internal temperature, these typically work well for folks who run on the hotter side. To my knowledge, there aren't any ski-specific softshell pants that have the ability to be put on whilst keeping your ski boots on. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Just like it says: "comfortable, sporty, active fit, is breathable and wind-resistant without being heavy or stiff [...] durable, lightweight outer layer, great for spring conditions, or those of us who run a bit hot."
