Ortovox Avabag LiTRIC Tour 28S
The “S” stands for short, but the Ortovox LiTRIC Tour 28S airbag is anything but short on functionality. With the electronically driven LiTRIC avalanche floatation system, you can fly with this in your carry-on, ensuring you can use your own familiar airbag instead of a rental. After a full charge, the Litric Tour 28S will have enough power for two deployments, providing a margin of error if it is accidentally deployed. Because it can simply be recharged, the LiTRIC Tour 28S is easy to practice using without discharging and wasting a perfectly good canister. A traditional diagonal ski fix on this pack makes stowing and retrieving your skis intuitive. Standard ice axe and pole carry attachments along with a removable helmet net built into the exterior of the pack make this a great choice for everyone. The chest strap comes with a built-in alarm whistle and an electric LED airbag display system makes it easy to view the charge status of the LiTRIC system, even in direct sunlight. All LiTRIC bags have an easy height adjustable handle for deployment that can easily be secured by twisting the handle 180°. Should you want more pack space for a multi-day trip, simply zip on the 36S pack, and get moving. Designed for smaller backcountry users, the Litric Tour 28 S is a comfortable and safe option to bring deep into the mountains.

Questions & Reviews
Essentially, the Tour is optimized for comfort on the ascents, while the Freeride is optimized for comfort on the descents. If you're thinking you'll use the pack primarily for touring, I'd get the Tour base. If you'll be doing lots of heli, cat skiing, or want a more secure pack for descents, the Freeride would make sense.
