My Skiing

Sometimes tight feet, upright stance, and dad turns. Sometimes large on the cuff carves. Ski Cascades powder all winter, and then spring corn into July, sometimes with Sierra Pilgrimage. Spring traverses are my favorite.

I don't work for Skimo Co but I don't think that the raider SL has the same pattern as the Raider. The Raider SL has the new speed toe piece. I think you would need the shim listed here. Anybody out there experience the infamous cracking lower with this model? I spoke with Jeff of Skimoco, and he said that the cracking issue from the previous iterations has been remedied. However when I called Fischer and they told me what seems like inaccurate information about the lower plastic being new for this model, which is not the case, as the lower is the same pebax... Hoping to hear from heavy users!
This is one of the least impressive skis in the Freebird lineup. It skis like a dead plank and lacks the liviness of other skis with similar shapes and camber. My MTN Explore 95s, and Waybacks were way more fun than this ski. The Navis is my winter daily and has a ton more life, and is a much better ski. I think the Camox Freebird suffered when they pulled the weight out of it. The appeal of the Freebird line up comes from their downhill capability and fun, and this one doesn't have "it".
