Like its bigger sibling, the Charger ACE, the Vector ACE from Voile bridges the legendary Ultra and Hyper Vector skis to provide skiers of all backcountry flavors with a tuned ride optimized for lower tide conditions. The paulownia core keeps weight manageable for big days out, while the reinforced maple mounting patch ensures excellent binding retention, even for telemark bindings. The continuous TPU sidewall resists rock strikes and allows for excellent edge hold, perfect for springtime mountaineering. Embracing function over fashion, Voile opted to use a sintered black base constructed of Ultra-High Molecular Density material, ensuring long-lasting performance and seamless base repair should you need it. Whether you need the ultimate telemark mountaineering tool or want a quiver of one for low-snow locales, the Voile Vector ACE fits the bill wonderfully.

  • Anti-Ice Topsheet resists dreaded snow build-up to keep your skis from feeling like bricks.
  • Continuous TPU Sidewall helps support the edges from impact while allowing for excellent edge bite in slick conditions.
  • Paulownia Wood Core has an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, providing durability and weight savings.
  • Telemark skiers rejoice! The Maple Mounting Plate ensures excellent retention for all telemark bindings.
  • Carbon Weave combined with Triaxial Fiberglass results in a tuned and damp ride.
  • Ultra-High Molecular Density Base material is durable and long-lasting.
  • Full Contact Steel Edges provide predictable grip when you need it most.
  • TL;DR: The ultimate telemark mountaineering ski!

Question from Steve

How would you say these compare to the Hyper Vector in terms of the ski experience? Is there any reason to prefer these if you aren't 1) a tele skier and 2) planning on hitting rocks?

Answer from Will McD

Hi Steve,

The primary difference between these and the Hyper Vectors are the 360° sidewalls. The core is the same lightweight Paulownia core (except for the maple reinforcement in the Aces, which is more for tele bindings); however, the sidewalls affect downhill performance in a positive way. The Ace has better edge hold and power transfer to the edges, giving it the edge (pun-intended) on hard snow. Furthermore, the sidewalls make the ski noticeably damper than the Hyper version. In fact, according to Voile, thanks to the sidewalls, the Ace is even damper than the UltraVector, despite being lighter than it. The main advantage of the Hyper construction is that it is the lightest of all 3 builds.

Question from Rick Edwards

How would these skis compare to the Voile Hyper V6? I have the H V6 but am looking for something that turns super easy. Thoughts? Thanks!

Answer from Gabriel I

Hi Rick, I wouldn't say that the Vector Ace is turnier than a V6. The V6 has more rocker than the Vector, and if anything is more maneuverable. The Ace construction is damper and more confidence inducing in firmer and/or challenging conditions than the Hyper construction in general, mostly due to an increased weight and full sidewall.
