Keep up with AT companions easily, dominate rolling terrain, customize your binding performance, and execute delicious telemark turns like never before with the Voile TTS Transit Telemark Binding. With cables that can be easily removed for climbing, the Voile TTS can weigh as little as 250 grams on the uphill, placing it on par with lean AT bindings. You can also leave the cables attached for faster transitions at the top, with the heel pad keeping them in place while touring. The binding is compatible with any telemark boot with tech inserts at the toe (including the ancient yet priceless F3 and original F1), and the tweaked heel lever geometry provides a confidence-inspiring hold on the heel of your boot.

The TTS Transit furthermore has more adjustability than NTN-pin bindings; the cables can trivially be swapped between 3 positions allowing you to change the activity of the binding, with the forward position being the most neutral (like a 75mm binding) and the rearmost being the most active (a la NTN), meaning you can dial in how the TTS Transit skis to feel like whatever telemark style you're used to. Additionally, the option to use either soft or stiff springs allows you to customize the downhill feeling of your setup further. Paired with the redesigned SCARPA TX Pro, telemark skiing has never been lighter or faster in the backcountry.

  • Removable cables cut the binding weight in half for ascending.
  • Two climbing risers for maximum uphill efficiency on any incline.
  • Cables can be swapped between 3 positions so you can dial in the feel of your turn just how you like it.
  • Rebranded Plum tech toe is time-tested and reliable for years of fun.
  • Reworked heel lever gives better security on your heel.
  • Works beautifully with the old Scarpa F3 or original F1/F1 Race/F1 Carbon, if you're lucky enough to own a pair.
  • Available with soft or regular stiffness springs to further tune your ride.

Question from Trevor Eastman

Can anyone speak to the differences of the cartridges, soft vs regular? I know that is fairly subjective but could be helpful. I prefer a less active binding, along the lines of the old voile hardwire, but still want to be able to pressure the tip of a stiff ski on firm snow.

Answer from Will McD

Hi Trevor. The activity is more affected by the cable position than the spring tension. Changing springs will obviously affect the resistance to dropping your knee, but won't change the point at which the springs actually start to engage as you begin to lift your heel. Moving the cable pivot backwards will cause the springs to engage sooner as you lift your heel, raising the "activity" of the binding.

For your use case, I would recommend going with the standard springs in the forward-most cable position. This will allow you to get lower to the ski before the springs activate (low activity) while still giving you ample power on the rear ski.

I like my old Voile 3 pin bindings with the releasable binding setup. Does this model release?

Mary, This binding is similar to all other tele bindings in that it will not release.

Question from Jim

Hi, I'm interested in adding a tech heel to this binding. Any advice on which one might give the proper height?
11/19/2024
Answer from Carlos M

Hi Jim,

This is a tricky question. I measured the height of the heel pad on the TTS binding at just a hair under 22mm. You will need to find a heel piece tall enough that your boot sole will clear the top of the heel pad, which means you will need 22mm + the distance between your heel inserts and the sole of your boot (which is not standardized).

Measure your boot from the tech inserts to the bottom of the sole, add 22mm, plus a bit of tolerance, and that is the height of the heel pins you will need. To find bindings that might be suitable, I'll direct you to our  Binding Pin Heights article, where we list the measured heights of all of our tech toe and heel pieces. It is very possible that none of the normal tech heel pieces out there will work without a custom shim, or some kind of modification to raise the height of the heel piece to achieve the necessary clearance.

Question from Andy M

Is this last year's or this year's model? The photos show last year's binding, i.e., no pull-tab behind the toepiece to secure the cable unit. Also, your text says that no crampon receptor is included, but it is included by Voile in this year's model. OTOH, you offer the soft-cable options, which is an option for this year's model. Can you please clarify these issues?

Hey Andy, looks like we had the old information when creating this page! It is the 24/25 model, and the page has been updated accordingly.
