Chances are if you use this with any regularlity you'll replace the metal crystal card with a plastic one. Other then that its a pretty solid little kit!
Throw in a mechanical pencil and some extra graphite and your ready to submit observations to your avalanche center of choice!

I bought and used this product for my Rec 1 and Pro 1 avalanche courses. Has everything you need for starting out to dig snowpits. A good introductory snow science kit.

When I bought this, my buddy said "You'll use it in your AIARE class and then never use it again."
So far he's right. But that being said, this does have all the tools you'll need to do your snow analysis work in your AIARE 1 and 2 classes.
