Technical ski descents often require building anchors and using special tools like axes and ice screws. For both of these scenarios, warmth and dexterity are critically important. The CAMP G Tech Evo Glove is a great option for those adventures since it offers a great balance between breathability and waterproof while throwing in reinforced leather on the palms and fingers for durability's sake. The G Tech Evo Glove is a layered construction that does not use padded insulation in order to give you exceptional grip and confidence when you need it the most. Also, thanks to the conductor pads on the thumbs and index finger, you can be sure you'll nail that impressive selfie mid-crux. The CAMP G Tech Evo Glove is a great option for high intensity, technical accents, and descents.

Question from Aaron

I'm coming out of a pair of Kinco gloves that are pretty beat up, and would like to replace them with something slightly less warm and something more water-resistant as the Kinco's always seem to soak up water when using my ice axe/whippets esp in the spring. I often carry 3 gloves with me: a thin windstopper, BD Mercury Mitts, and am looking for the glove that sits in between for spring and sunny winter days.

Would these be the right fit? Is there a better choice you'd recommend?

Hi Aaron, it seems these would be right up your alley. Not super insulated/warm but quite dry. Made for those spring mountaineering days imo.

Thanks jbo. Is there a glove that's comparable with light insulation (but less than Kincos) to carry me through winter days as well?

Hi Aaron, the problem with adding insulation to waterproof gloves is that it's easy to sweat them out and then you end up with colder hands. We generally preach layering with gloves, just like with tops or bottoms. For example, adding a waterproof overmitt can add a moisture barrier along with warmth. In the winter, you don't need waterproofing in a base glove as the snow is cold and dry.
