How could Elan make the Ripstick 88 any better? Easy...make it lighter so you can use it in the backcountry. The Elan Ripstick Tour Women's 88 jukes, jives, and now climbs with aplomb. It turns out the Amphibio technology works supremely in backcountry conditions just like it does off-piste at the resort. The tips of the skis are not only rockered up for excellent float, they are also slightly rockered from side to side, making turn initiation a breeze, even in junky conditions. The 88 Tour has a smallish turning radius for carving up corn and powder while dancing through trees and down tight couloirs. Elan's Carbon Bridge Technology keeps the ski fun as you bounce out of turns and have your way with the terrain instead of the other way around. The bridge is a carbon tube that runs down the center of the ski which offers damping as well as a lively ride. Elan didn't skimp on the durability with pyramid-shaped ABS sidewalls. Have a rip with the Elan Ripstick Tour 88 Women.

  • Amphibio profile* means smooth turns with easy initiation in all conditions.
  • Carbon Bridge Technology is a carbon tube running lengthwise for vibration reduction and rebound.
  • Full 360° pyramid-shaped ABS sidewalls are quite durable and also dampen the ride.
  • Two layers of carbon reinforcement mean this isn't a floppy noodle.

* Please note you will have a left and a right ski with the Amphibio technology.

Update 2022/23: The Ripstick Tour line received a graphics update across the board.

Claire C (downright abused product)

I treated myself to a pair of these beauts last winter and promptly fell in love. They handle any conditions except for the deepest of powder, and even then can manage up to 6 inches of freshies without too much issue. However, it’s harder snow and corn where they really shine. I spent a lot of time fitness uphill-ing at my local resort where I would carve corduroy to my heart’s desire, or as I fondly call it “lay trench”. For how lightweight they are they handle speed remarkably well and are very energetic when carving. When it comes to the backcountry their weight makes it possible to ski all the laps your heart desires and makes spring (or summer or fall) missions when part of the approach is dirt a walk in the park. They hold an edge in harder and icier conditions, kick turn with ease, turn quickly in the trees, and somehow make corn skiing even more fun. I have to say, I am surprised I don’t see more people sporting these because of how much fun they are. Do yourself a favor and take a ride on the Ripstick.
