It turns out the Amphibio technology works supremely in backcountry conditions just like it does off-piste at the resort. The tips of the skis are not only rockered up for excellent float, they are also slightly rockered from side to side, making turn initiation a breeze, even in junky conditions. The 88 Tour has a smallish turning radius for carving up corn and powder while dancing through trees and down tight couloirs. Elan's Carbon Bridge Technology keeps the ski fun as you bounce out of turns and have your way with the terrain instead of the other way around. The bridge is a carbon tube that runs down the center of the ski which offers damping as well as a lively ride. Elan didn't skimp on the durability with pyramid-shaped ABS sidewalls.
