Petzl Fly Harness

Unlike Icarus, when it comes to mountaineering you can never fly too high, and one way to hit those heights in a minimalist fashion is with Petzl's Fly harness. By removing all metal parts and traditional buckles from this design, Petzl has created an innovative harness in a lightweight package using its FUSEFRAME technology. The Fly harness has girth hitches at the leg loops and an elastic toggle system at the waistbelt that allow you to put this harness on without removing skis or crampons. While many of us are used to the typical belay loop configuration, the 2-loop tie-in offers all the same functionality and redirects the load to remove the need for a structural waistbelt connection. If you're an organizational freak you will also appreciate the two gear loops and four additional loops to help transport all of the equipment required for technical outings. These gear loops are reinforced with high-modulus polyethylene (HMPE) for greater resistance to abrasion and rubbing so no need to baby this beauty. To top it all off, the foam padding can easily be removed from the Fly for days when weight and packability are the highest priorities.
