I have these mounted to the current version of the Movement Alptracks 106. It's a lightweight, powder slaying setup, and I love these bindings. The race flap is useful unless you're on a steep skinner. If you want the high riser, you have to flip the heel. Not a deal breaker for me since these are not race skis and the heels turn easy enough. I've had no pre-release issues or other issues. The slight elasticity in the heel provides noticeable reduction in chatter, especially when I have them mounted to a la...

The whippet works great for me. Being able to easily detach the pick is a game-changer. I keep the pick in my pack all season. If I need it, it's there. In the spring, I throw in a gully ice axe, and I can have a pick in both hands for climbs. On descents, I like not having to hold an ice axe or stash it in my shoulder strap. Climbing and skiing preferences are personal. So I can't say it will work for you, but I love it. It's become a staple of my backcountry kit all year. If you're whippet-curious, I woul...

These boots are amazing. I have a Scarpa foot. I fit well in the Alien RS before I got these. The Boa dial on these boots is a big improvement over the Alien RS. And, I can get the cord to lock down the rest of the boot plenty tight. I use them primarily for skimo laps, but I also put them through some serious ski mountaineering objectives. The carbon cuff is incredibly stiff laterally, and the fore-aft flex is better than you'd expect with a lightweight boot. I have a really narrow, low-volume foot, and th...

I love these skis. I have them in the 186cm length. I'm 6'00" and 155lbs. So I get plenty of float out of them on deep days. Anytime the snow is soft and cold, these are my go to skis. I like the new camber/shape profile more than the previous iteration. It's still a ski that likes to make big, fast turns, but I think it's more playful, especially when you are in trees or tighter terrain. It's easy to slash turns, scrub speed, double-turn, or do whatever other funky things you might want to do in soft snow ...

Yes! I put a contour basket and tip on a Leki PRC 700 pole. Worked perfectly. Didn't even need extra glue. Boil a pot of water. Let the pole basket sit in there for 1 minute, and pull off the old XC basket. Quickly put on the new contour tip and you'll be skiing powder on your race skis in no time!
