Ben: Love the Trab toe. But I’m indifferent between the Trofeo and Titan heels (both are excellent) but wanted to see in this case if I could reuse at least two holes from the Vario specifically for the elasticity in the heel. In other words, swapping to a Titan heel from my Trofeo/Haute Route heel with R01 plate was a lateral shift and not what I was after. I did not want to have to put another set of holes in this ski. Thanks!
Is anyone able to provide a meaningful comparison to either the Zero G 105 (older edition, which I understand is a bit stiffer than the newer one) or the Backland 107? I have many 100s of days on the Zero Gs and recently got a set of the Backlands to replace them. I tour 100+ days a year — and most of the winter my skis are 115-120 under foot. While 105 used to be a powder ski, it's now something I use for longer days/higher peaks/situations — steep/firm (but edge able) snow is possible if not likely...
Realized I never reported back on this. FWIW, I did manage to fit an Intuition Tour Pro (standard/medium volume) (size 9 in a 26.5 shell). For me, it noticeably improved my fit and performance over the sock liner. Slight loss in ROM but nothing that affected me in any major way (including 5-mile lake crossings). I used the stock liners for about 15 days and have been in the Peak Carbons for ~180-200 days since getting them early 2023. Perhaps that will help someone.

One of my Trofeo heel pieces is reluctant to turn. It only happens in the field, not at home — and is true for a single heel piece out of 3-4 pairs. Will the ATK binding grease help with this? I'm wondering if somehow it is a lubrication issue for the track in which the heel rotates. Or, is the ATK grease designed only for the bindings with adjustable release (i.e., non U-spring)? I do have plenty of greases/lubrications from bike maintenance and other projects but would prefer to use the manufacturer'...
Thank you, jbo! Seems to me like the Vario.2 toe is the best/most interesting one out there for my needs. Having to redial for a new heel plate is not ideal. Maybe I should consider the franken-binding option. I appreciate the information and reply. I'll ponder my next move.
