ATK Freeraider SL 14 Binding
As we've journeyed away from the archaic days when frame bindings reigned supreme, many have found that light doesn't necessarily equate to total compromise. For those who count grams, value durability, and enjoy a fully featured binding, the Raider SL 14 from ATK may fit the bill. Built with the same heel piece as many others in the iconic Raider series, you'll be treated to elastic travel that compensates for ski compression, adjustable release values between 7-14, magnetically secured heel risers that avoid obnoxious "clacking," and a high-end build quality definitive of ATK bindings. As the "Free Raider" variant in the SL series, a freeride spacer is included, which acts to transmit more power to the ski for aggressive descents. To help with weight savings, ATK smartly pairs this binding with a minimalistic and light toe piece that leaves all the unnecessary grams behind. For those who want the performance of the Raider series without a single extra gram of additional weight, the Raider SL 14 from ATK is sure to please.
- Elastic Response System allows the binding to compensate for ski compression, helping keep your release values consistent.
- Magneto heel flaps smartly secure the heel risers in place, ensuring they don't wildly flap about.
- Cam Release System facilitates easier step-in to the heel piece and allows for adjustable release values.
- Snow Pack Proof toe helps eliminate snow buildup under the toe wings for reliable operation in deep snow.
- AP Brake System, while more fiddly than its Evo cousin, is simple to operate.
- Easy Entry System allows for simple entry into the toe piece. Hooray!

Questions & Reviews
Would you consider a binding like the Freeraider SL-14 to be used as a very limited use resort binding, or a binding you may want on a travel ski, like to Japan? Or go with a Shift 2.0?
Thanks,
Mike
I would feel fine skiing the Freeraider SL14 in the resort from time to time! It will not perform as well as a resort binding in rougher resort conditions, but it is a durable and lightweight touring binding! I think if the majority of your trip is focused on touring, but you might see a bit of time in-bounds, this would be a great binding to choose.
