The TLT 3L is a hard shell that is so light, packable, and breathable that you might actually want to use it when moving efficiently. 3L stands for 3-layer, which is a specific subtype of proprietary Dynashell™ fabric. The three layers can be thought of as waterproof, windproof, and breathable. Dynafit accomplishes this with a top secret weave of nylon and spandex. The 3L jacket has 4-way stretch, yet provides impressive weather resistance. It’s also extremely packable so you won’t have to think long about whether to throw it in your pack on those splitter days. This is exactly what hard shells should be. Dynafit is breathing new life into the hard shell concept with the TLT 3L jacket and pant.

Questions & Reviews
Glad to hear your jacket kept up throughout the years! You may find better weather protection with the various pro materials, particularly on the extreme end of conditions. In very wet outings, think downpour; these jackets will keep the moisture at bay for longer. This, of course, comes at the cost of breathability, which the TLT jacket did a decent job at for a hardshell. The GTX active layer may be an improvement in this regard. It was engineered with breathability in mind and does a good job at it. Like prior, this will come at the cost of weather protection. There is always a give and take in this game. The Dynafit Radical Gore-Tex Jacket may be a good offering for you, using this active layer where it counts while also utilizing more protective material in areas most likely to get wet. Thanks!
