Fischer Transalp RC Ski
The Fischer Transalp RC is a high-performance race ski, proudly positioned as Fischer's flagship skimo competition ski. With its world cup pedigree, the Transalp RC has a long turn radius, which is conducive for “tucking it” down the slope when trying to get ahead. The long effective edge and Sandwich Sidewall Construction yield reliable edge hold on hardpack, while a limited tip rocker is just enough to keep you in control when the snow gets manky. To keep the weight down, Fischer used their Aeroshape construction which curves the topsheet into the sidewall, allowing the ski to be thinner (read: lighter) near the sides while also helping shed snow, without compromising downhill control and stability. The Fischer Transalp RC is made to help you speed past competitors on the up, down, and in the rankings!
- Aeroshape technology curves the topsheet allowing the ski to shed weight and snow without compromising durability.
- 23-meter turning radius is comfortable at high speeds, allowing you to push the pace.
- Air Tec TI reduces the weight of the core but utilizes strategic titanium reinforcement to keep the ski feeling strong.
- Tour ROCKER supports performance in variable conditions, giving you confidence on race day.
- World Cup pedigree with smooth and reliable performance.

Questions & Reviews
Since he is young, I would suggest the Voile SR Race or Dynafit Mezzalama skis. Less expensive and easier to ski.
Due to Fischer USA's lack of customer support, I will no longer purchase their products. My next skis will be Ski Trap, and I'm considering Blizzard G Zero Race as a second option.
However, if Fischer or any company knows their samples are lower quality than main production, they shouldn't sell them without disclosing it and potentially misleading customers. They could have easily marked them as "DEMO MODEL WITHOUT WARRANTY.
For me, I could have easily removed the "DEMO SALE" tag from the html invoice myself. But personal integrity and trust that Fischer was going to honor the faulty NEW product is what I assume. For me that personal integrity and customer experience are more important than a few dollars. This is why I consistently support skimo.co - they prioritize customer satisfaction and do what's right. You've always had my business, and I'll happily continue to support you, and tell everyone.
Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Fischer. They seem willing to sell new products without explicitly guaranteeing them. My wife has a pair of Fischer Travers boots, and my daughter has a pair of Fischer skis. These will be my last Fischer purchases. I did follow your advice and bought a pair of Ski TRAB Gara for me and another pair for my wife. Thanks again for all the support and for answering all my questions. I appreciate your support for the local community and races across the nation.
FYI most of the "sample" deals in consignment shops come from independent sales reps, not the company itself.
For a more forgiving race ski that inspires confidence on the downhill, we really like the Dynafit Mezzalama ski. The DNA 4.0 is a great option as well, which uses the same shape as the Mezzalama but with a lighter weight construction to make it more competitive on the uphill.
For a more aggressive ski that can hold an edge on hard snow quite well, the Ski Trab Gara World Cup is a very competitive ski that will have a bit more appetite for speed than the above two.
I've also been really impressed with the Blizzard Zero G Race skis. I rented the older version from Skimo.co, and the downhill performance was unreal, even on double black diamonds at the resort. If you get a chance to demo a pair, I highly recommend it. However, the staff at the shop might mention that the new model isn't quite as stable or stiff as the older one. As I posted above, my new skis are a Ski Trab, but I have not tested them yet.
The measurements for the Zero G Race are similar to the Mezzalama and DNA 4.0, but interestingly, when I tried the Mezzalama, it felt like a different ski altogether. That surprised me since I heard Blizzard makes skis for Dynafit.
