How would you compare the 2026 Atomic 101 W to the Hyper Manti W? It seems like they are getting close in description in terms of rocker and flex.

Hi, I was looking at these Backland 102s. I have a pair of Dynafit Free 97s. At times, they feel a bit narrow and in softer snow they don't quite float as much as I'd like (every ski seems good enough in deeper snow of course!). And as things get crustier or snow gets chopped up, they sometimes feel like not enough width or weight. I ski mostly in the Sierras. The skis are 177's and I weigh about 180lbs before adding gear. I ski a Scarpa Maestrale, so not the lightest boot. I have skinnier and fat...

Been reading through this again as I am up for a new set of bindings. I have been wondering: So many tech bindings rotate at the heel (protects ACL) while many alpine bindings rotate at the toe (protects tibia). Yet tibia fractures are much more rare, and truth be told, I think a broken bone usually has fewer long term limits on activity than an ACL rupture. Given side country now offers the option (TR1 vs Shift), is there any new wisdom? I guess if I were stranded multiple days from help, the ACL tea...
