My Skiing

A somewhat unusual background of learning to ski in the backcountry (in 2017). I'm sure because of this my form could use some pointers, but generally I feel comfortable on most terrain. Generally I have the most fun on moderate steeps where I feel confident linking turns but it's still steep enough to be exciting. occasionally i do enjoy riding hop-turn-mandatory terrain, but i like to save those for a special day. Overall I am a pretty conservative skier, but when in moderate terrain I enjoy becoming more playful and hucking things. I am based in AK so we have the full range of conditions from blower pow, nasty wind board, chalky couloirs, and ripe spring corn. I've fallen head over heels for skiing, so naturally I am looking to progress my skiing skills to open up more terrain and snow conditions. That said, where I am looking to improve most is in steeper terrain with variable snow conditions (a tall order I am sure).

Hey Skimo, now that you have these in stock, care to elaborate on the instep height? Similar to someone else, I also have a low instep height, and found the Atomic Backland Carbon to be too high volume around there too.
This are nice bindings, but I am starting to put more trust in lightweight gear (and also not wanting to carry it up the hill). Would the mounting pattern of these be compatible with lighter bindings? Such as the g3 zed and/or BD helio 200?

Any Chance you'll be getting this in a shorter size?
